Powering consumer
flexibility at scale

Two in-person ‘convening days’ are being run to support potential applicants for the innovation funding call which is part of the UKRI Clean Energy Superpower Mission’s Consumer Led Flexibility (CLF) Challenge, which is part of the R&D Missions Accelerator Programme. The aim of the funding call is to support businesses and innovators who are developing novel AI and digital solutions and other innovative product and service solutions to accelerate consumer led flexibility (CLF) and scale to system adoption by 2030.

These events are designed to help prospective applicants connect with potential collaborators, develop and test project ideas, and strengthen their applications. Each of these convening days is organised around key themes being targeted within the competition. You can request to attend either or both of the days.

Day 1 will focus on the Industrial and Commercial theme (as defined within strand 2 of the competition scope) including how digital and AI solutions can unlock additional industrial and commercial flexibility.

Day 2 will focus on the themes identified in strand 1 of the competition scope, exploring AI and digital approaches to unlock additional consumer led flexibility at scale.

Both events will create space for focused discussion, early-stage partnership building and practical insight to support the development of competitive, high-quality applications.

Attendees

Who should attend?

These events are intended for organisations considering a submission to the UKRI Innovation Funding Call and looking to build or strengthen a collaborative proposal.

This may include businesses, researchers, technology developers, delivery partners, place-based organisations, end-users and others with relevant expertise, assets or routes to deliver impact.

Why attend?

These days are designed to provide support for those that would benefit from it but they are not compulsory, and attendees will not be prioritised for funding.

The sessions are not a substitute for the formal competition guidance, eligibility criteria or application documentation, which applicants should review separately as part of their preparation.

Disclaimer

In the case that registrations exceed available capacity for these events, participant prioritisation may be required. Priority will be given to registrants that are working on or planning to work on a UKRI Innovation Funding Call submission, with limits applied to the number of participants from any single organisation. Registrants should clearly articulate alignment with the scope and thematic focus of the funding call within the registration form. Registering interest does not guarantee a place.

From idea to impact

These convening events are being run to support potential applicants for the innovation funding call for the UKRI Clean Energy Superpower Mission’s Consumer Led Flexibility (CLF) Challenge, which is part of the R&D Missions Accelerator Programme.

The aim of the funding call is to support businesses and innovators who are developing novel AI and digital solutions and other innovative product and service solutions to accelerate consumer led flexibility (CLF) and scale to system adoption by 2030. Being able to evidence how solutions will achieve impact by 2030 and contribute to the target of at least 2GW of additional flex on system in this timeframe is central to this opportunity.
